Pros: great optical zoom, great pictures, decent video
Cons: noisy focusing, camera sometimes has issues
Bottom Line: I'd recommend it if very inexpensive as there are smaller cameras that reasonably do almost as much as this one. However, the 12X optical zoom is great.

Pros: Excellent image stabilization, excellent color, large lcd screen
Cons: doesn't stay powered on very well, long shutter lag time
Bottom Line: Although it is easy to use, you may run into technical difficulties relatively soon after purchase
