Pros: True wideangle 28mm lens, improved ergonomics, fantastic image quality
Cons: No hot shoe, slow lens
Bottom Line: If you can only have one digital camera, this is the one to have. Advanced features and compact size, without any penalty in image quality.

Pros: Compact size, 5 megapixels, ease of use, and lots of creative photography options
Cons: Squinty optical viewfinder, image noise unacceptable at highest ISO setting
Bottom Line: The S60 provides most of the creative photography options of the superb G5 and much of the convenience and ease of use of the S500

Pros: Canon quality, and many professional settings and features.
Cons: Again the complex sliding door of troubles are afoot!
Bottom Line: I feel this is a solid choice due to the lens range, and the quality of results is very good.

Pros: Wide angle. Optical viewfinder. Superb image quality. Sensor is 20% larger than most digicams.
Cons: Slow start up, zoom, focus, and playback. Short battery life. ISO hard to set manually.
Bottom Line: Ergonomically annoying, slow, and does not gain up the ISO in low light. But once you get the shot, photo quality is superb.

Pros: 640x400 video, super high quality pictures, wide-angle lens, and ability to manually focus.
Cons: 30 seconds for high quality video, poor night time pictures, and focusing is slow.
Bottom Line: Highly recommended for people wanting to take scenic pictures and general snapshots. Not too good at distant night time pictures.
