The Kodak Z1275's 12MP pictures are sharper than my 5 MP Kodak. Been lots of people saying 12MP is wasted on cameras with small sensors. The Kodak doesn't have the smallest light sensor, so really does take advantage of the 12MP. Out-of-focus portions of pictures, under large magnification, are not busted up in pixel squares, but have nice smooth transitions from 1 color to another. In-focus images filling the monitor screen can stand lots more enlarging, as you zoom in to see sweet quantities of detail. Your 'surprise quotient' will go way up as you see details unseen while you were viewing scenes live. You will begin to understand the huge amount of detail that humans do not consciously register as they view a scene live.

Never had a panoramic stitch program before. What a revelation! While hand holding the Kodak in my hands, in panoramic mode, the camera seamlessly stitched 3 pictures together that had been taken in a horizontal manner. But it wasn't three 12MP pictures stitched together adding up to 36 MP. It was 3 pictures stitched together with a total of 12MP. I was somewhat disappointed. But a panoramic picture, that is so easily constructed with 6500+ pixel elements across the horizontal, still isn't to be sneezed at.

Colors seem close to their real-life values & I adjust exposures less on this camera than all other cameras I've ever had. & that includes the built in flash exposures which are quite powerful.

The manual is terrible. It may hint at things the Z1275 will do. But things the camera WILL DO, can slip right past you. For instance, only because a previous Kodak I used could magnify the image in review mode, did I finally figure that the Z1275 could magnify as high as 8 times!

Use Lithium batteries or rechargeable NiMH batteries of high amp-hours. All other batteries will burn down fast...I mean real fast. Hey, its 12MPs.
