Epinions I surf, snowboard, & paintball.. I love it!

by  joe_black,  Dec 27, 2003
Pros: Small-Good quality photos-1 hand operation-Sequencial photo-USB Firewire-15sec movie
Cons: NiMh or Lithium AAAbatteries required! NO zoom-Only 6 feet flash
The Bottom Line: For active lifestyles like mine & quick action shots then, this is definitely a camera to get. Best and only affordable underwater/action cam in it's price range.
Review: I just got this camera today(Nov. and I saw it in August). This is the best $220 I ever spent on a camera.(Only the camera/no box or batteries or memory stick) but I have a 256 & 512 meg stick & Firewire already. I had come across this from my boss, ...

Epinions I love this camera

by  barefootgirl,  Apr 27, 2005
Pros: Durable, simple, goes everywhere. Easy to shoot with one hand.
Cons: battery life not the greatest, but don't let that scare you away.
Review: I've had my U60 almost a year and have taken pictures with it that I never would have gotten with other digital cameras I've owned, simply because it can go where those cameras couldn't. (Something to consider if you're leery about the lack of a zoom.) ...

Epinions Good At What It Does--Great for active people who need a quick snap!

by  briandalsmom,  Sep 30, 2003
Pros: Waterproof to 5ft deep--splash proof, snow proof, and sand proof!
Cons: Low resolution photos; No digital or optical zoom; No sound in Movie Mode; Fixed Focus
The Bottom Line: Give it to the kids and don’t worry--short of stepping on it or dropping it to the bottom of the lake, it should come home in one piece.
Review: There aren’t many digital cameras designed to be used in rough conditions. Specifically, one that is water-resistant or even waterproof. Waterproof models usually are way out of the price range of us “regular” people, but this one isn’t. ...

Epinions Wow… A Practical Digital Camera That Can Go Underwater!

by  esasaki,  Jan 10, 2004
Pros: Excellent underwater and land performance, superb pictures during movement, easy one-handed use, low shutter delay
Cons: No digital zoom, occasional sunburst flaring, only 2-megapixels, right-hand model, limited waterproof depth
The Bottom Line: The DSC-U60 is an instant conversation piece that serves active/shallow water or winter sports lifestyles very well at a fraction of the cost of a digital camera and waterproof enclosure.
Review: Being avid snorkelers, my wife and I were looking for a way to replace some of the underwater one-use film cameras that we took on our trips with a waterproof digital camera. After a lot of research into specialized underwater digital cameras and ...

Epinions use it without fear - one year later

by  spacepiggy,  Jun 25, 2004
Pros: tough, water/splash proof, fast start/focus, excellent exposure/color balance
Cons: over compressed jpeg for larger prints, punchy intense colors
The Bottom Line: Buy it, get dirty, have fun, rinse it off under the tap. Amaze your friends. It is a great camera and it does take good photos.
Review: One year after writing this original review, and I'm still using this camera a lot. I took it on a bike trip through France to watch Le Tour de France in July 04. I could have sold it a dozen times over, but didn't. It is still the only fully water ...

Epinions Good little camera with some weak points

by  dmd2157,  Mar 26, 2004
Pros: Underwater capable; easy to operate; good image quality
Cons: No optical viewfinder; LCD display very small; no zoom
The Bottom Line: If you need a basic land camera and want the underwater capability as well, the DSCU-60 is the camera for you.
Review: I chose this camera because I needed a camera to take with me while snorkeling. I was a bit skeptical that it would actually work well underwater, but it does. water images look great, and the camera has a special setting for underwater imaging. The ...

Epinions Interesting Design, Uninteresting Zoom

by  splatcat,  Mar 11, 2004
Pros: Waterproof, Pretty Rugged, good quality, comes with batteries and charger
Cons: no zoom, awkward to hold at first
Review: I bought this camera because I do a lot of backpacking muddy/wet type of activities and so far, I have not disappointed. The camera quality has been more than I expected for 2 megapixels. I have used the camera under water several times and the ...

Epinions Good at what you should expect of it.

by  effe,  Aug 29, 2004
Pros: Seems well made, ease of use and water proof design make it a smart buy.
Cons: It's a pricey little hunk of plastic, included memory stick is a bad joke.
Review: The DSC-U60 is a great little camera, perfect for outdoor types who have always wanted a digital camera. I use mine for candid snap-shots. I keep it in my backpack or in my golf bag. It's easy to use and quite a little conversation piece. I have ...

Epinions Excellent underwater digital camera, by default

by  jackyche,  Jul 9, 2003
Pros: Rare underwater digital camera, vivid colors, good functionality.
Cons: Weird form factor, memory stick, only 5 feet of depth
The Bottom Line: Its an underwater camera. If you have no need for underwater part, then you have no reason to buy. If you have the need, then there's no reason not to.
Review: If you're in the market for underwater digital camera, you'll quickly find that your choices are ver ...
