Pros: Low price, features, image quality, sharp optics, compact, sturdy, large LCD, histogram, easy to use
Cons: Some plastic elements (battery door, tripod mount), expensive xD cards, no manual control, slow USB
Bottom Line: I highly recommend Olympus Stylus 500 if you want an inexpensive all-weather, compact, cool yet capable camera with 5-megapixel resolution, sharp optics...

Pros: Massive screen, excellent build quality, stylish design, ease-of-use, photo quality, improved controls.
Cons: Abysmal customer service, still not perfect for snapshots.
Bottom Line: This is an ideal camera for someone who understands the principles of photography, and wants a compact camera that they can take anywhere, produces excellent prints, and is simple.

Pros: Rugged, well made, compact camera that takes very good pictures. Large, sharp LCD display.
Cons: No conventional viewfinder for basic framing. Mode wheel is bothersome.
Bottom Line: A great camera for a novice, yet good and compact enough for a serious photographer to carry all the time. For the price, overall quality is excellent.
