My friend actually researched for kid cameras and decided on this one. After seeing other options, I've been very pleased with this purchase.

We purchased it for our 4 yr old for Christmas. He was a disappointed to find out that he wasn't getting a voice changing helmet, but soon forgot his woes when this came out of the wrapping.

The camera is made with very durable, thick plastic. So far, no scuffs or discolouring from being dropped. A much better option than allowing little hands to test out a regular camera. It comes with an extra face plate for those fashionable photographers. There are two ways to view subjects through the camera. You can look through the LCD display screen, or through the eye viewers at the top of the camera. Through the display screen, there are special effects that your child can select. With these effects, they can add funny accessories, hair, etc. to the photo. It fits approximately 150 pictures on it before you have to download them. You also have the option of erasing a few, if you are stuck.

The buttons are user friendly and easy for children to figure out. There are two buttons that a child can press to take the picture, just in case their little hands cannot span to the front of the camera, where the standard button is. They can also view pictures on the camera, download them to a computer or even plug the unit into the TV and view them there.

You can also record video and there are a few kids video games programmed into the camera which makes for a quick distraction when you are waiting for an appointment, or in line at the grocery store.

The only downfall so far is the resolution of the camera, and the pictures and video once they are downloaded. I like to put up my kids artwork, and will be limited with the size that I can print them at.

This camera requires 4 AA batteries, and comes with 16MB of memory. You can purchase a SD card for extra memory.

Overall, it has been a lot of fun for the kids, and for us to get a little glimpse into their perspective on life so far.
